A recovery copy outside your Microsoft environment
uBackup runs on a different infrastructure provider with its own administration. Your recovery copy stays reachable if something happens to your tenant or your admin accounts.
European storage and governance
Your data is stored in German data centres and managed within the ISO 27001 certified management system of Universal.Cloud. You know where your data is and who can access it.
How you switch
Your current backup keeps running until uBackup demonstrably works. You switch only after your approval.

uBackup runs alongside your current backup for 30 days. We compare resource and item counts.

For each workload we show at least one successful restore and you check the restored result yourself.

Can I keep working if Microsoft 365 is unavailable?+
Mail, Teams and SharePoint remain Microsoft services. uBackup keeps your data safe and reachable in a separate environment, so you can recover as soon as you need to.
Is uBackup ISO 27001 certified?+
Universal.Cloud has an ISO 27001 certified information security management system. uBackup is developed and managed within it. We assess the infrastructure provider separately.
Where is my backup data stored?+
In data centres in Germany, with a European infrastructure provider. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. In the assessment you receive the full overview of locations and subprocessors.
Which parts of Microsoft 365 does uBackup protect?+
