uDefend: how we handle an alert
Monitoring only has value if something actually happens with an alert. uDefend is the platform we use to do that. It collects the alerts from Microsoft Defender, has AI analyse them and makes sure an engineer takes the right next step. So you do not get a raw alert email, but a clear notification with concrete advice.

Collecting alerts
Every five minutes we collect the security alerts from Microsoft Defender, through delegated admin rights (GDAP) on your tenant. On top of that, a vulnerability scan of your software runs every six hours, against a baseline so that only new risks lead to action.
Applying your agreements
For every type of alert (mail, endpoint, identity, cloud apps) we record who gets informed and what may happen automatically. We make those agreements with you at the start and store them, so every alert is handled your way.
AI analysis in plain language
AI assesses the severity, estimates whether it is a false alarm and writes a summary in plain language with a recommended action. Fixed rules sit on top of that: a critical alert always goes to the engineer on duty, and if the AI is uncertain a human takes over.
Adding context
We look up which device and which employee it concerns. That way the alert reaches the right person instead of a generic mailbox, and the engineer immediately sees the impact on your organisation.
Creating a case and informing you
Every alert becomes a case in our service system, with a full record of what happened. The accompanying email is prepared by AI, but a security engineer reviews and sends it. We never send you anything automatically.
Follow-up and closure
You handle the follow-up yourself or leave it to us. When we close the alert, we update its status in Defender as well. If we manage your applications, we can silently update a vulnerable app without you having to do anything.

AI does the groundwork, a security engineer decides. No message reaches you that an engineer has not seen.
False alarms cost you no time
Alerts that turn out not to be a real threat are recognised and closed automatically where you allow it, such as phishing mail Microsoft has already cleaned up itself. That leaves only what deserves your attention.
Everything is traceable
Every alert, status change and sent email is kept in the case history. Useful for your own reporting and for audits, for instance around ISO 27001 or NIS2.
Monitoring is part of the subscription
Watching, analysing and informing are part of your SECaaS subscription. Only when you have us carry out the remediation work is that booked separately.
